Hi, I’m Allie!

I am a 36 year old mother and wife who has been in the hospitality industry for the last 18 years. I started at 18 years old when I was in nursing school and ended up leaving my program to pursue my dream of becoming a Chef. I’ve had the pleasure of working all over Ann Arbor & Detroit, mostly notably Zingerman’s Roadhouse, Zingerman’s Cornman Farms, Parks & Rec Diner and BonBonBon.

I became the Executive Chef at The Standard Bistro & Larder in 2019 and once the pandemic hit we decided we needed to pivot to better serve our community and the idea of Lala’s was born - an elevated comfort food spot with a fresh & funky menu that rotates often and helps folks expand their culinary mind.

Fun facts: I’m a collector of vintage pyrex and lover of bourbon, coffee, and salt. I don’t remember my natural hair color anymore and have more cookbooks then most libraries.

Chef Allie’s meals make you feel like your sitting in your grandma’s kitchen. Whether it’s the brilliantly simple burger smothered in pimento cheese and topped with candied bacon or just the Mexican Hot Chocolate pie you will find yourself remembering your meal for weeks to come. There are not enough good things to say about the food at Lala’s.

I had the pleasure of working with Chef Allie to cater a bachelorette party, and she nailed the menu!

We chatted about the bride, and she was able to craft a menu that fit her perfectly. Chef Allie was professional and fun, from beginning to end. She was prompt, organized, and kept our party flowing. The food was absolutely spectacular, and my personal favorite was that we were able to keep leftovers from each course!
